Ben Bikin stands 32 feet high atop an 1890s-era Penny Farthing bicycle. A local company, F.A.S.T. (Fiberglass, Animals, Shapes, and Trademarks) Corp., created the statue, where he’s been stationary in his present location in 1995. He is considered the World’s Largest Bicyclist.
Ben is located at Ben Bikin' Park, on the corner of Water Street and Wisconsin Street.
A state trail pass is required for all people over the age of 16 biking on certain trails. A trail pass is not required if walking, running, or hiking.
Trail passes are sold at the front desk in our Chamber of Commerce building at 111 Milwaukee St. in Sparta. Daily passes are $5 each, and annual passes are $25.

Sparta City-Wide Rummage sale weekend is ran by Evans Print and Media. Historically, the weekend is first weekend in August. However, we encourage you to check with Evans Print for up-to-date information.
Sparta's Butterfest is a family friendly yearly event with activities that include a carnival, food vendors, nightly live entertainment, and many more. In 2022, Butterfest is being held on June 9th-12th.

Tunnel 3 is nearly a mile long and is a well loved attraction for local sight seers as well as visitors. We understand that occasionally, you may not have enough time to bike to the tunnel. Parking is available near a trail access gate on Kenya Avenue off Hwy 71. From here, it is about a mile walk to tunnel 3.

The Kriskindlmarkt opens the weekend following Thanksgiving. The market is open during the holiday season on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. The season lasts for three weeks.

The Monroe County Historical Society has an Arts & Craft show twice a year the first Saturday of March and November.

The address for the Sparta Campground is 9890 Imac Avenue. In Sparta, turn south on John Street. John Street turns into Igloo Road. After crossing under Interstate 90, turn left on Imac Avenue to the campground.
